JRL Call For After 'Friday Prayers Protest' | KNO

Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik strongly condemned the killing of a 16 year-old student Mohammad younus at Gulabagh, Tral in Puwlama due to indiscriminate pellet firing by the Indian forces .The JRL said forces are on a terror spree in South Kashmir areas every day. Under the garb of CASO youth are being brutally killed and a huge population placed under siege, people harassed, property damaged and even women and children terrorised.

The JRL said that it seems that government and its forces, police, army, CRPF have declared war against the people of South Kashmir as there is no end to atrocities inflicted on the people that includes arrests, torture, raids and frequent siege. The leadership said that after Friday prayers on August 11, people will stage peaceful protest against the forces highhandedness and new wave of terror unleashed on the people of South Kashmi

The JRL urged the Imams of all the masjids across Kashmir to raise the voice against the unabated atrocities being committed by the forces in South Kashmir   during Friday sermons and to condemn forces’ brutalities in unison to express solidarity with the people of southern districts of Kashmir 

The JRL urged the people of Kashmir to make the strike call given for Saturday (August 12) a success stating that the call is against the assault on the J&K’s special status and continuous killings of Kashmiris at the hands of Indian forces.

The JRL also termed the arrest and shifting of senior resistance leaders Shabir Ahmed Shah, Advocate Shahidul Islam, Ayaz Akbar and Farooq Ahmed Dar to Delhi’s Tihar Jail and keeping others that including Muhammad Altaf Shah, Mehrajudin Kalwal, and Peer Saifuallh under NIA custody, as sheer political vendetta to defame the resistance camp by framing the leaders under false and baseless charges and to demoralize the people of Kashmir.JRL also called condemned the summoning of Naseem Geelani, Nayeem Geelani and Fahim Ali and many members of the Kashmirs trading faternity by the NIA

The leadership said that the ploys adopted by the Govt using NIA to muzzle and build pressure on the resistance leaders of Kashmir wont deter the resolve of the pro-freedom camp who are committed towards the peoples’ movement of Self-determination 

The leadership also paid rich tributes to Shaheed-e-Azmat Sheikh Abdul Aziz, on his  9th  martyrdom anniversary stating that he sacrificed his life for a great cause and always remained committed to the freedom  movement. They said best way to pay tributes to Aziz will be that the entire nation remains steadfast towards the mission for which leaders like Shaheed-e-Azmat and thousands of other martyrs laid down their lives.Meanwhile, a special prayer meeting will be organised at martyrs graveyard Eidgah in memory of Sheikh Aziz and other martyrs on Aug 11 at 10.30 AM
